In this competitive world, some Corporates try hard to retain existing staff due to new emerging companies and can also hire & fire people anytime. The fear of being fired anytime makes every employee unsure about his/her place in the company. We become so unsecured that we want to impress the administration of our dedication towards the company by becoming a workaholic. We try to give every second of our life to the company, early mornings, late evenings and long hours of travelling, leaving behind family, social life & all the moments of joy. The pressure of retaining our place in a company or to remain in the business amounts to fear & anxiety, leading to physical and mental complexities.
We need to work for earning, for our living and that cannot be ruled out, but then where do we stop? Where do we draw a line? We are employees and not slaves, this holds true from an employee’s perspective, but then what can companies do? They have invested lots of money in the company and want to see investments reaping profits. So, what can be done? How can we create a balance? How can the companies get a desired balance sheet and the employees get a healthy working environment? How can working be cordial rather than conflict?

The answer is, we make working complementary and not compulsory. Yes! I mean, working should be joyous and not a boring routine. A man & woman marry and weave a whole new world around them. A man has a concept of his woman, and a woman has a concept of her man. It is not necessary that a man chooses his spouse or the woman choose hers. In a traditional set-up, it is more often that families decide and the man-woman gets married. These men women are strangers to each other and only after marriage that they get to know each other. Some accept whatever is, but some strongly oppose it; a clash among couples leads to a disturbed married life. Unhappy marriages are loveless marriage; kids born to these couples will be a product of procreation and not love. These kids will never ever see the emotion of love around them. It is a marriage of convenience, not of love and that’s the reality of almost all the marriages in India. If we do an honest survey, we will find 99% of couples are unhappy in their arrangement. They won’t even know why they are together and why didn’t they separate even after realising the truth. And the biggest dilemma is that if at all you ask them why are they married or what did they find exciting about marriage or what did you get through marriage; they will have no answer but a plain standard statement that that’s the way it is.
No man woman are identical, they are different from each other, see life differently. Some stick together but others may not, and we cannot force couples to stick to each other even after irreconcilable differences. It is better to let two individuals be happy separately rather than two families being unhappy jointly. Some realise this truth and want to correct this. But some may want to just get out of the arrangement. And some even after realising would not dare to utter a word due to fear of the society. With this compromise, arrangement & fear in mind we cannot have good offspring. Loveless environment means a society full of enmity, arrogance, hatred & greed as love was never part of this relationship. Letting or breaking off marriages is not the solution, but if we do not get to the root cause of such a problem; marriages will not survive. Neither we can continue to let people live in a troubled marriage, nor can we keep breaking marriages without adequate reasons. The question arises, how can we deal with such condition?

We need to understand these couples and if things can be mended by a little correction, then it should be given a try. Both man & woman need to wholeheartedly agree to mend differences by identifying issues within them. Once things are clear for both of them, we can hope to reconcile them. If we want to have a good society, we need to address this situation. Every individual needs space to breathe, every individual has a distinct identity, dream & goals of life differ. Marriage is a journey of two different people, we should respect both individuals and let both be part of their exciting journey. No one is above the other, both are equal.

Every celebrity standing in front of the camera behaves as per the character, but in real life they too are like any normal human beings. They live under the shadow of fear; fear of being rejected or thrown out of the limelight. They are the most vulnerable lot in our society. A general person can hide his/her failure or rejection by socialising or by just relocating to a new town, but a celebrity cannot hide anywhere. They will be recognised easily, and today’s media wants stories which can sell or create TRPs; what better than a story of a celebrity.
To stay in the race they need to look fashion divas, young, fresh and stylish at every event. They are under constant watch of their fans. They also have to maintain a perfect lifestyle, or they will lose their credibility.

Likewise, they have a lot of pressure to keep smiling even under stress and tough conditions. They are always under the lens, be it media or the public. I have worked with them as a buddy & listened to their fears; I have assisted them in handling situations. These celebrities entertain us, make us laugh & cry, become a part of our life; they too need that special attention which can keep them rooted and make them grow as actors. They too sometimes expect a normal behaviour from others and want to enjoy life as a normal person. We assume that we achieve success in our career by our hard work & perseverance but miss the point that in our career, we have other contributors as well. Apart from our successful jobs or business, there is more to life. We have family, friends, co-workers, neighbours, servants, domestic helps, drivers, watchman & many more that complete our life. We can never succeed without the assistance of the people around us. Not only that, but we all are bound to each other as like small parts of a big machine. We all, when synchronise, run a machine. We as a tiny part of a big machine cannot function alone and the sooner we understand this reality the better for all.

Religion, caste, community are just labels we hold on to ourselves, but they shouldn’t become hurdles in our social development. Eastern philosophies believe that our mortal body is a mixture of five elements. These five elements like fire, water, earth, air and ether are our composition. When a fire & water both having different & opposite characteristics bond together to make a human body and can sustain together, then why cannot people from different backgrounds gel with each other? Why do we have to hate each other for no reason? Differences can be resolved just by talking to each other. Why do we create an environment of hatred & anger around us? It will serve no purpose. I believe that we all need to recognise each other’s contribution in our lives; the day we hold each other’s hands, trust each other, rest assured no one will ever fall.
